    Hi,

I really enjoyed reading your article big is beautiful. I’ll be more confident now in chosing bolder accessories for my home. I look forward to the Christmas column. Just a quick question is metallic wallpaper still “in”.

    Thanks
    Jo

    • Thank you for your comments Jo. I will be researching content for the Christmas edition next weekend at the annual Interior Design trade shows in London…

To answer your question on metallic wallpaper – wallpaper in general is still very much en vogue, with more designs than ever before available to choose from. Wallpapers with a metallic element are definitely still “in” and special effect wallpapers that mimic the look of a different material can help boost the vibrancy of a room. A metallic wallpaper will add interest, help bounce light around a room and give a feeling a glamour – all great pluses in a scheme! My current favourite is a simple plain metallic with a very thin black vertical stripe, looks like a pinstripe suit! It is by Osborne & Little – Collection Folia, Pattern Inglewood. It’s stunning and depending on the angle of light onto it changes from silver to gold to bronze, simply sumptuous!
